My skincare mood changes throughout the week. Some mornings I want the quickest possible routine, while on other days my skin feels as though it needs a little more attention before I even think about makeup.
I’ve become especially drawn to products that have one clear role and are easy to slot into whatever routine I’m doing that day. These three ended up covering very different moments for me: daytime protection, a richer cream step and a lightweight soothing layer.
Skin Comfort, Day to Night

1. Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum

The Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum is the one I naturally associate with busy mornings. The packaging describes it as SPF 50 PA++++ with high protection, and I like having that protection built into a serum-style step rather than feeling as though sunscreen is something completely separate at the end of my routine. What matters most to me with products like this is how easily they fit between skincare and makeup. I prefer applying a light layer after my moisturiser and giving it a moment to settle before moving on. It makes my morning routine feel much less complicated, which is usually what convinces me to keep using something consistently.

2. Lancôme Rénergie Cream

The Lancôme Rénergie cream feels like the product I reach for when I want my routine to feel a little more substantial. Compared with the lighter textures I normally use during the day, a cream in a jar immediately puts me in an evening-skincare mood. I like using richer formulas when my skin feels dry or simply less comfortable than usual, especially after a long day. I tend to use less than I initially think I need because I prefer building up cream gradually rather than applying too much at once. For me, this is the kind of step that makes a routine feel slower and more deliberate.

3. COSRX Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule

The COSRX Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule is much closer to the lightweight side of my routine. The centella positioning immediately made me curious, but what I enjoy most is the simplicity of using a dropper product when I want an extra layer without reaching for another heavy cream. I usually apply a small amount before moisturiser, particularly when I want my skincare to feel fresh rather than rich. It is also the sort of texture I find easier to combine with other products because I can adjust how much I use depending on how my skin feels that day.

What I like about these three is that they do not compete for the same place in my routine. I can keep things light in the morning, add an ampoule when I want another layer, and save the richer cream for evenings when I want more comfort. For me, that flexibility makes skincare far easier to stick with.
